More About Our HVAC & Basic Refrigeration Program

You can use the education you have learned in the McCann HVAC & Basic Refrigeration program to install, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems. To be an HVAC Technician, it would be helpful to develop industry-specific skills, have knowledge of piping, wiring, troubleshooting, and be comfortable using power tools. Typical duties could include:

  • Install and maintain a wide array of HVAC systems
  • Calibrate thermostats and other system controls
  • Perform general and preventative maintenance on different HVAC systems
  • Change parts of the units that have been worn out including motors, belts, filters, and more
  • Maintain tools and equipment used on the job
  • Respond to emergency calls to resolve issues as quickly as possible
